We are delighted to have had radio play on all kinds of global radio shows, and enjoy listening and discovering new music. This is an especially good show. Thanks to Chris Heim at Global Village Radio for putting a lovely show together. Great listening any day of the week
We put loads of time and work into recording Clandestine. And although it was very enjoyable to do in its own right, it’s great to get a review published on real paper, in the Yorkshire Post Weekend Magazine. Thanks to Duncan Seaman.
Full album release today! Delighted to announce that our new album Clandestine is available from today on all the usual download and streaming platforms, Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, Deezer etc. Limited edition CD & download from Bandcamp only.
It’s time for a new video, the next single from our new album. This is La Funambule, and he’s on a mission. Watch the video and see if it’s possible! La Funambule is from Agent Starling’s new album Clandestine.
We have exciting news – our new album, Clandestine, is released! You can get it from today, November 4th 2022.
The album is a celebration of ten tunes, eight composed by contemporary international hurdy-gurdy players together with two new arrangements of traditional tunes. All the tracks are performed, arranged and recorded by Agent Starling.
Many of the tunes featured on this album are drawn from musical friendships and Quentin’s year long quest travelling across Europe learning from master Hurdy-Gurdy players and folk musicians from different musical traditions. His travels took him to France, Spain, Crete, Germany, Holland and Preston, Lancashire. All given the Agent Starling re-imagining by Lou and Quentin.
Clandestine will be available on all the usual digital platforms from November 18th, but you can get it on Bandcamp from Friday 4th November as either a download, or special edition CD. If you would like the album, Friday 4th November is the best day to get it as it’s Bandcamp Friday when they waive their fees.
Agent Starling are Quentin Budworth hurdy-gurdy and vocals and Lou Duffy-Howard vocals, bass guitar and all other instruments and programming. The album also features special guest Dexter Duffy-Howard on violin, cello and harmonium. Recorded in Yorkshire UK by Agent Starling and was mastered in Oregon by Kevin Carafa.
Here is the single from the album, it’s a fabulous tune, Hellebore, composed by Toon van Mierlo.

It’s lovely to be back on the festival circuit and Celtarabia had an absolute ball at Nottingham Riverside Festival this weekend. Especially good fun to play to a great audience who wholeheartedly joined in with us being dancing bears! Thanks to Trish, Rory and the festival team for great stage, sound and hospitality. Next up we’re at the Northern Green Gathering on August 19th, if you’re heading to the festival come and have a dance with us 🎶🔥💃🏼
